Hearts will not be ready to play ball should Rangers wish to speak to Derek McInnes about their managerial vacancy.

The Tynecastle boss has been suggested as a possible next manager at Ibrox following the sacking of Russell Martin, named in various reports and on bookies' shortlists.

He has previosuly rejected his former club when in charge at Aberdeen due to concerns around the running of the club, but his name always naturally crops up due to his connections with Rangers.

On top of that, he is currently proving his credentials by riding high at the top of the Scottish Premiership with Hearts after six wins and a draw from their opening seven fixtures. That includes winning by two goals to nil at Ibrox.

He has been vocal on how delighted he was to land that job and how much he is enjoying it to date, while fans and the wider club are clearly loving the impact he has made.
