Gerrard has emerged as a favourite for the Rangers job, as rumours circulate about Derek McInnes potentially coming to Ibrox.

Jermain Defoe has been linked with the Rangers job, but amid the speculation, he has revealed something that will make Gers fans only favour the return of Gerrard even more.

Defoe joined Rangers at the back end of his career but was still a hit at Ibrox.

The former English international netted 32 times in over 70 appearances for the Gers, and though he is fondly remembered in Glasgow, now isn’t the time for him to return as head coach.
