Rangers’ search for a new manager is set to enter a third full day on Wednesday as they seek Russell Martin’s replacement.

Steven Gerrard remains the firm favourite to take over at Ibrox, but plenty of other names have been mentioned.

While Sean Dyche appears to be out of the running to become next Rangers boss, the likes of Kevin Muscat, Danny Rohl and Slaven Bilic have also been mentioned.

But more names continue to be thrown into the frame, the most recent being Coventry City manager Frank Lampard.

Rangers have a bit of time to play with before their return to club action, but that is not to say this search can drag out for too long.

Martin was sacked by Rangers on Sunday to the surprise of nobody, with Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe under pressure to get the next appointment spot on.

And while Lampard’s name has not been mentioned by many, he is the man Ross McCormack would have in the Ibrox dugout given the choice.
