Rangers have finally sacked Russell Martin.

Rangers relieved Martin of his duties after yet another dismal 1-1 draw against Falkirk on Sunday, not before he was forced into a Police escort to leave.

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have already released a statement admitting they were wrong with the appointment, as they get more hands on for his replacement.

Martin never worked, with Kevin Thelwell already holding talks with the next possible Rangers manager to replace him at Ibrox.

That won’t be before a hefty bill is settled, though.

Martin was only 123 days into a three-year contract at Rangers, meaning more than 75 per cent of his contract may have had to be paid out.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, football finance expert Dan Plumley predicted the bill that could be sitting in the boardroom for the American owners.

“It’s going to be in the region of low single-digit millions, you would say,” he said.

£1million or £2million, depending on the details of his contract, you never quite know, but you can see the estimates online of what he was earning at Rangers.
