Rangers will be anxiously waiting for Tuur Rommens to return from injury.

Danny Rohl’s side could return to the top of the Scottish Premiership when they take on Falkirk on Sunday afternoon, depending on leaders Hearts’ result against Motherwell.

Just a point separates them from the summit, so it is crucial that they have as many players as possible fit and raring to go. Unfortunately, Rommens is not currently one of them.

The talented Belgian full-back is out with a muscle issue he sustained in training, and also missed out on the 4-2 victory against Dundee United at Ibrox last Saturday.

Rohl hopes Rommens “won’t be out too long”, but at least for the next match, Rangers will have to cope without him. They will also likely be without at least two more first-teamers.

It quickly became apparent that the mystery absentee referenced by Rohl before Saturday’s win was the 23-year-old, who now won’t return until after the split.

Rommens has made an impressive impact for Rangers since joining from Westerlo in the winter transfer window, making eight appearances to date.
