Rangers legend Craig Moore has brutally ripped into Youssef Chermiti for showing too much “swagger” during games, telling him: “You’ve won nothing yet.”

While the striker has scored nine goals since joining from Everton in an £9million deal during the summer, he remains frustratingly inconsistent and is yet to fully win over supporters.

Indeed, he has not netted since his superb double against Celtic in March’s Old Firm draw, while his performances have more often than not left much to be desired.

Danny Rohl opted to bench him for the 4-2 victory against Dundee United last time out, but the ace was not missed despite notching an assist for Bojan Miovski’s late strike.

Rangers will look for a new striker during the summer transfer window, leaving Chermiti’s future hanging in the balance. However, some of the criticism directed at him is out of order.

It’s fair to say that, by and large, Chermiti’s big-money switch to Ibrox hasn’t paid off. Every time he has hinted at making steady progress, he has taken two steps back instead.

The clock is therefore ticking, and Rohl certainly can’t be impressed.
