Rotherham United will be trying for a third time to play an away game in 2026 when they travel to the Accu Stadium to take on Huddersfield Town in the next round of the Vertu Trophy.

The Terriers

Huddersfield come into this game in the top 5 of League One. They have managed to play 3 times in January getting an away point at Lincoln on New Year’s Day, a home 2-all draw with Exeter City and a loss in time added on at the weekend away against Stockport County.

Town have a number of long term injured including Marcus McGuane (groin), Herbie Kane, Jack Whatmough, Antony Evans, Zepiqueno Redmond  and Sean Roughan. David Kasumu is also missing suspended.

The Terriers finished runners-up in Group F after a 6-2 home win over a Newcastle U21 side, a 1-0 loss away at Harrogate Town and a 3-1 win over Mansfield Town at the Kirklees Stadium. Huddersfield made the trip to Sincil Bank to take on Lincoln City in the last round with Joe Taylor and Murray Wallace scored to give them a 2-0 win.
