Huddersfield Town head coach Liam Manning insists his side have to “wake up quickly” with time starting to run out on their League One play-off push.

Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Plymouth Argyle leaves the Terriers ninth in the division, on 57 points from 39 matches played. Town are three points off the play-off spots with seven games of their campaign left to play, while sixth-placed Stevenage also have a game in hand.

With his side playing catch up as they approach the end of season run-in, Manning told BBC Radio Leeds: “I just said it to the lads in there, we have to wake up quickly.

“We can’t keep drifting by and thinking that we’ll change it on the next one, because the next one will run out very soon.

“We’ve obviously now got two weeks with no game, so we have to make sure that we use those two weeks wisely, we work hard, we come in and get better.
