Graeme McGarry has once again used his Herald column to take aim at ours fans (and the ones across the city); this time for supposedly peddling conspiracy theories about referees. The timing is remarkable. This is the same weekend when it’s not just the Ibrox fans but the club itself and half of its media allies who are pushing the claim that their club is being conspired against and targeted by the SFA.

That’s right. The SFA. An organisation with no history of treating that club unfairly, but which does have a documented, proven history of shafting Celtic. We’ve gone over it again and again, and frankly, it’s getting tedious having to keep doing so.

McGarry falls back on the old fallback line: ask the fans of any club, and they’ll all tell you they’re hard done by. It’s a tired, boring, futile argument. Of course fans feel that way — that’s not new information. But in Scotland, it lands differently. There’s a perfectly obvious reason why this stuff cuts deeper here.
