Danny Rohl will be expected to make an instant impact at Rangers after being appointed the new manager.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager has no time to waste at the Gers after a poor start to the season in G51.

Rohl’s appointment at Ibrox has received some backlash from fans, with Steven Gerrard and Kevin Muscat seen as better options to fill the vacancy.

Andrew Cavenagh must be regretting appointing Russell Martin, but supporters feel the Glaswegian outfit’s chairman hasn’t learnt any lessons by hiring someone who’s perceived to have a similar footballing philosophy.

Rohl worked at Bayern Munich and the German national team as Hansi Flick’s assistant coach.

The Bundesliga giants won the treble in the 2019-20 season under the current Barcelona head coach, with the former Sheffield Wednesday boss part of the coaching staff.

Taufig Khalil, who works for German broadcaster ARD, believes the Gers boss has a similar philosophy to Flick’s, as he heavily influences him.
