Peter Grant has accused Nicolas Raskin of lacking the positional discipline to play as a holding midfielder for Rangers.

Rated highly by the Ibrox faithful, the 24-year-old is also becoming a key man for the Belgium national team. He's had his troubles at club level, only recently forcing his way back into the XI after a fallout with previous head coach Russell Martin.

He started as the defensive player in the middle of the pitch, with Joe Rothwell and Thelo Aasgaard either side of him, during the Europa League game against Brann in which Rangers took a sobering 3-0 beating.

He showed his ability at times, including setting up Youssef Chermiti for a chance with a lovely cross, but was overrun at others.

Grant says the former Standard Liege man doesn't hold his position as much as is needed for that role.

He told the Go Radio Football Show: "I wouldn't have Raskin dictating where he plays. That seems to be a massive problem. He's got to say to him, 'If you're going to play there, this is what with this role (entails).'...
