Joshua Zirkzee is set to request a transfer away from Manchester United in the upcoming window.

West Ham are currently leading the race to provide the Dutch international with an escape route from his Old Trafford woes.

Zirkzee has had a difficult time at United since his £36million move from Bologna during Erik ten Hag's tenure. The striker has struggled to make his mark and has become a target for mockery among fans due to his goal drought.

The 24-year-old managed just seven goals in 49 appearances across all competitions last season. This season, he has made only four appearances, and it's been 10 months since he last found the back of the net in a league match for United, back in December.

United manager Ruben Amorim has decided that Zirkzee does not feature in his long-term plans. Zirkzee's situation has been further complicated by the summer arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
