Barcelona are delighted with Marcus Rashford but are in no rush to sign him permanently from Manchester United.

That’s according to Sport, who say Barcelona want to see if Rashford can continue to develop over the coming months.

They signed him on loan from Manchester United in the summer. That deal includes a €30m purchase option, but they’re in no hurry to use it.

Those in charge at the Camp Nou believe it is still too early to finalise a deal. They prefer to see how his season develops before making a move. The idea is to wait and see if Rashford can continue his current run of form.

If he can, they will then ‘begin to draw up the lines’ for negotiations with Manchester United.

Those negotiations are not expected to be difficult given the €30m agreement already in place. The suggestion, though, is that Barcelona may already be looking to negotiate that figure in some way.

Internal assessments of Rashford are very positive, though. He’s adapted quickly to Hansi Flick’s plans and integrated on and off the pitch. He was one of the star men in the big defeat of Olympiacos...
