Bruno Fernandes has been told he’d be an ideal signing for Bayern Munich after his reported Manchester United price tag emerged.

The 31-year-old captain was heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford in the summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Fernandes was speculated to make a £100m move to Al-Hilal, but he rejected a money-spinning deal to remain at United.

Fernandes has been United’s talisman since he made the initial £46m move from Sporting almost five years ago, and he remains crucial to Ruben Amorim’s system, playing in a deeper central midfield role.

Despite this, the 84-time Portugal international continues to be linked with an exit from United, who could look to cash in one their captain to pursue and younger alternative more natural fitted to featuring in his current role.

A price tag of £40m has even been reported, offering bargain value for a European giant looking to add quality to their squad.
