Some of Liverpool’s former stars have not gone on to hit the heights many thought they would.

Despite having some of Europe’s best players for many years now, the Reds never neglect the youth and give them chances where possible.

Jurgen Klopp was particularly good at this and was always keen to give them an opportunity to shine, with the German handing out many debuts.

The trust he put in them suggests that he thought they had bright futures ahead, although, of course, not every player can go on to play at the very highest level.

But for one star, he has gone from making his debut in the San Siro to the sixth tier of English football, proving just how quickly things can change in this line of work.
