Wolverhampton Wanderers summer signing Ladislav Krejčí has joked he nearly avoided the move, due to playing at Christmas.

IDNES have an interview with the defender today in which he admits there’s an internal battle waging inside him over the Christmas schedule.

The 26-year-old joined Wolves on loan at the end of the summer transfer window. That deal includes an obligation for them to buy for €7.5m next summer under certain conditions.

He’s found himself immediately in the fray, playing ninety minutes in their last four games in the league after sitting on the bench for the defeat to Everton. He also played 90 minutes in the EFL Cup win over the Toffees.

That means he’s barely had a chance to take stock of his move to England. That’s seen him having to adapt to many changes, such as driving on the other side of the road.

Another big upcoming difference he’ll have to deal with is England’s Christmas schedule. He had become accustomed to having that off during his time in Spain and his native Czech Republic before that.
