With October’s international break now upon us, managers cross their fingers and hope their players come back in one piece and ready to start the next club match.

Germany’s DFB reported on Monday that Nick Woltemade is struggling from a flu-like illness so hadn’t yet been able to join his national squad.

GloboEsporte report the Newcastle United pair of Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton are struggling to get to South Korea. That’s where Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil are meeting up for the current break.

The Magpies pair were expected to arrive today ahead of friendlies against South Korea and Japan.

GloboEsporte explain: ‘A broken window on the plane forced the two players to return to Amsterdam midway through their flight on Tuesday. The pair traveled 12 hours to and from the Netherlands. They are expected to be transferred to different flights on their mission to reach South Korea later on Wednesday.’
