Newcastle United chiefs have been urged to reward Kieran Trippier with a three-year deal. The 35-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the season after four years at the club.

Toon boss Eddie Howe has been clear that he wants the full-back to stay at the club beyond the summer with the incoming director of football being tasked with sorting out any new deal.

The length of a new contract will be key, and speaking on The Monday Show via The Everything is Black and White Podcast, co-host Mark Carruthers believes Trippier has earned more than a one-year extension.

"We spoke a lot about Kieran Trippier's importance to Newcastle United and there's been a lot of talk about his future, but I'll tell you what, I would give him another three-year deal now," he said.
