Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga has hit back at criticism over his form since joining the club in the summer transfer window.

Elanga made the switch to St James' Park in a £55million transfer from Nottingham Forest but is yet to register a goal or an assist for his new club.

The 23-year-old was excellent in the 4-0 win over Union SG and gave Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin a torrid time in Newcastle's other Champions League game, too.

But he hasn't quite found his groove in the Premier League and there has started to be some questions asked among supporters over his lack of direct goal contributions so far this term, given the money United spent to bring him to the club.

However, Elanga isn't concerned and is confident the goals and assists will start to flow for him on Tyneside
