Newcastle United summer signing Antony Elanga has insisted he isn’t concerned about his slow start to life at the club.

Fotboll Skanalen cover comments from the winger today in which he says any media criticism isn’t being heard for now.

Elanga joined Newcastle in a €63m deal in the summer, following an impressive campaign with Nottingham Forest last season. He bagged six goals and 12 assists in 43 games as they competed for a Champions League place for much of the campaign.

He’s yet to get anywhere near those numbers so far at Newcastle. His record so far is one goal in 10 games. He’s also only started three games in seven in the Premier League. Elanga’s solitary assist came in the 4-0 win over Union SG in the Champions League last week.

That’s led to plenty of questions being asked, particularly as Newcastle’s other big summer signing, Nick Woltemade, shines early on.

Anthony Elanga isn’t concerned, though, and believes things will click eventually.
