Graham's main concern with appointing Robinson would be whether the St Mirren manager would be ready for the step up of expectation and pressure associated with leading Rangers.

"I suppose the challenge is can he carry the weight of a club of the magnitude of Rangers," he added.

"Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding, but I wouldn't be overlooking someone like Stephen Robinson."

Graham was also asked if former Rangers captain Steven Davis should be considered for the role.

Davis, Northern Ireland's most capped player, took over as interim Gers boss in October 2023 for two games before Phillipe Clement was appointed and now works as a first team coach for his country.

"I think Steven Davis is a legend at Ibrox, was held in high esteem and was the interim manager briefly," explained Graham.

"Steven has a role at Northern Ireland I suspect he'll not want to give up. If Steven Davis had any role at Ibrox there would be no fan who wouldn't be supportive of that.

"If it's not now for Steven, hopefully it is some time in the future."
