Barry Ferguson has been questioned about his interest in becoming the Rangers manager.

The former Ibrox captain was in temporary charge of the club last season following Philippe Clement's dismissal.

He openly expressed his desire for a permanent appointment but was overlooked in favour of Russell Martin.

With Martin now no longer in the role, Ferguson was asked on the Go Radio Football Show if he fancies a return.

He said: "I’m in a good place right now, I’m enjoying what I’m doing.

"I had a great three months last season but that’s in the past.

"I’m back doing my ambassador role, I’m back on the radio, I do my column too, so my life is good at this moment in time.

"I was disappointed for a week after not getting the job but that’s in the past, you need to move forward.

"They made a decision to bring Russell in and I wanted Russell to be a real success.

"Rangers are my team and I want Rangers to be challenging but unfortunately for Russell...
