Rangers finally reached the end of their tether with Russell Martin after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

The 39-year-old’s reign was disastrous from start to finish, and the Gers fans quickly turned against him and piled the pressure on the board.

Rangers only confirmed Martin’s dismissal on Sunday evening, but there are already several names who are being tipped to potentially take the reins in Govan in the coming weeks.

The likes of Sean Dyche, Mark van Bommel and Steven Gerrard have all been mentioned, but there is surely one candidate who would stand out as a particularly strong appointment.

Danny Rohl was heavily linked with the Rangers job before Martin was handed the keys earlier in the summer, and he could be an option once again this time around.

Journalist Ben Jacobs posted on his X account on Sunday evening that both the German and Gerrard “remain appreciated’ by key figures within the hierarchy at Ibrox.
