Andy Robertson’s Liverpool exit has opened the door to a summer scramble, with Tottenham Hotspur among five clubs now circling a potential free transfer opportunity.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to improve their side this summer window, should they manage to avoid relegation to the Championship.

While the club will be looking to make several marquee signings, securing bargains who can elevate the squad will also aid their squad-building efforts.

In the winter window, Tottenham approached such a bargain when they tried to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool, but their efforts failed to yield any results.

Liverpool were not keen on losing Robertson at the time, even when Tottenham were set to pay a small fee for the full-back.

There was a fear that his departure would have left them short at the back, as they failed to recall Tsimikas from loan at AS Roma.

Robertson stayed put but has now decided his time at Anfield is up and is set to leave on a free transfer this summer window, with the club sharing his official statement.
