Steve Cooper insists he laughed off accusations from Bosnia head coach Sergej Barbarez that he deliberately benched midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic to help Wales ahead of their recent World Cup play-off semi-final.

Bosnia triumphed on the night by way of a 4-2 penalty shootout victory at the Cardiff City Stadium, before eventually going on to see off Italy in the final.

However, much of the talk ahead of the clash with Craig Bellamy's men centred around comments made by Barbarez about Tahirovic, who has recently found game time hard to come by at Brondby under the former Swansea City boss.

Barbarez previously suggested he felt Cooper had dropped Tahirovic in a bid to give an edge to Wales, an accusation that was roundly denied by the Danish side.
