Swansea City boss Vitor Matos says he wants Ethan Galbraith to stay at the club for the “next 10 years” - but the midfielder is now facing an anxious wait over a fresh injury concern.

Galbraith has been one of Swansea’s standout performers since arriving from Leyton Orient last summer, excelling in midfield and even filling in at right-back when required.

His form has also carried onto the international stage, with the Northern Ireland star earning rave reviews for his recent displays against Italy and Wales.

And speaking about the 24-year-old’s future, Matos made his feelings crystal clear.

“I think he’s a player we want to see in Swansea for the next 10 years, so let’s see how long we can sign the contract,” the Swans boss said, per the BBC.

Galbraith is already under contract until 2028, with the option of a further year, but Swansea are now considering rewarding his excellent first Championship campaign with improved terms.
