Brentford’s plan for Gustavo Nunes has already shifted once this season. After struggling for minutes in the Premier League, the winger joined Swansea City on loan in January in search of regular football and a clearer development path.

The Swansea City move has brought some exposure, though not a full breakthrough. Gustavo Nunes has made nine appearances in the Championship so far, starting four matches and registering one assist, which came at home against Preston. 

The spell has offered minutes, but it has not yet changed the wider picture around his long-term role.

That backdrop helps explain why interest from Brazil has continued to build in recent weeks. Several clubs have explored the situation, while Brentford have kept control of the process after investing around £10.3m (€12m) to sign him from Grêmio in 2024.
