Spanish newspaper AS presents that contrast while analysing the forward’s situation, linking it directly to his race to secure a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

According to the Spanish outlet, Richarlison is effectively in a “World Cup countdown”. With around 90 days left to convince Carlo Ancelotti he deserves to be Brazil’s starting striker again, the Tottenham player is trying to rebuild momentum after an injury-interrupted season.

The report points out that the competition is fierce. Igor Jesus, Igor Thiago and João Pedro are all producing strong performances in the Premier League, while Endrick and Vitor Roque are also part of the conversation.

Still, AS notes that Ancelotti has long admired Richarlison’s profile, dating back to their time together at Everton.
