Today, the Celtic Trust and the Celtic Fans Collective are working on an initiative to get shareholders to register their AGM votes directly with the Trust at a night in Gracie’s. This comes as the story breaks that ComputerShare – the company Celtic uses to process shareholding details – is reportedly struggling to assign proxy votes to the Trust for use at the upcoming AGM.

This could be a computer glitch. It could be something else. Naturally, there’s a lot of online suspicion about what this actually is. Because even in a matter as simple as this, this club is all out of benefit of the doubt.

Even if this is benign, it looks terrible. Even if it’s nothing, it looks like something.

And people who would normally have dismissed talk of conspiracies as crank stuff or nonsense aren’t quite so quick to do that anymore.
