A former Aston Villa chief has now provided a very interesting update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur target Morgan Rogers.

It is no secret that Tottenham pushed to land Rogers in the summer before eventually securing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Spurs were prepared to offer ‘crazy money’ for Rogers in the summer, but Villa made it clear that their star man was not for sale.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham could try again to land Rogers in January, and a Villa insider has now shed light on the midfielder’s contract situation.

Last month, it emerged that Villa had opened talks with Rogers over a new contract in order to ward off interest from Spurs and other Premier League clubs.
