Leicester City will consider moving senior players on in this January transfer window with the size of the squad “killing opportunities” for the club’s top youngsters.

Streamlining the squad was a big topic for manager Marti Cifuentes in the summer and while the numbers were whittled down, more exits are on the agenda in the new year.

City have a 31-man senior squad and with the more experienced players getting the nod, some of the club’s most promising youngsters are not featuring.

Only Jeremy Monga has been playing regularly of City’s talented teenagers. Midfielder Louis Page has not featured since the opening month of the campaign, while defender Bade Aluko and forward Jake Evans, both England youth internationals, are yet to play a first-team game this season.

Even Ben Nelson, who earned rave reviews on loan at Oxford last season, has been unable to make the bench over the past couple of months.
