Rick Passmoor (Leicester City)

Leicester City lost 4-1 at the King Power Stadium to Arsenal in the Women’s Super League on Sunday – but head coach Rick Passmoor says there were still things he was pleased with from his team.

The Foxes were 3-0 down at half-time thanks to goals from Alessia Russio, a Sari Kees own goal and then Stina Blackstenius.

But in the second half they clawed back a late goal from Noemie Mouchon, although they conceded one more at the hands of Blackstenius.

“Playing against an excellent team, what I was pleased with was the response in the second half,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.

“The players that came on really put down a little marker, saying I’m ready and prepared to work for this football club.

“Out of the whole seven games, this is our biggest learning. Can we now utilise that in a positive manner in training and bring it out on a matchday?”

And centre half Julie Thibaud agreed.

“The plan (at half-time) was to forget what had happened and go again like it’s 0-0,” she said to the club’s official website.
