Mia Enderby on signing for Liverpool

The Women’s Super League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at Brisbane Road ran deep into additional time on Sunday after an extensive period of treatment for Mia Enderby.

The forward appeared to sustain an injury to her neck late on, and it required a lengthy stoppage, meaning that 22 minutes were added on after the clock ticked past the regulation 90.

The BBC have since reported that Enderby was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Reds boss Gareth Taylor had little information on his player’s welfare immediately after the match, telling the media in quotes reported by the club’s official website: “It’s not nice to see. Obviously [she was] stretchered off and I’ve not had an opportunity to speak to the medical department. I think she has gone to hospital but hopefully she is OK.

“At one point I thought she was going to re-enter in terms of getting back up and start to play again but with those types of injuries it’s really crucial we take care of them.”

The 20-year-old has been ever present for Liverpool so far this season and signed a new two-year contract in the summer.
