Connor Barron is suspended for Rangers' Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Celtic.

The midfielder will miss the fiercely-anticipated match at Hampden Park on Sunday due to accumulating two yellow cards in the earlier knockout rounds.

Barron, who was praised for his performance in the recent 1-0 victory over Hibernian, will have to watch from the sidelines as his team face their arch-rivals.

He received his first booking of the competition in the 78th minute of Rangers' last-16 win against Alloa Athletic in August.

Coincidentally, he picked up an identical booking in the same minute during the following round, which saw Rangers triumph over Hibernian at home.

According to the Scottish FA's Judicial Protocol for the 2025/26 season, players from teams who enter the League Cup at the knockout stage face a one-match suspension after two yellow cards.

As a result, Barron is sidelined for the semi-final showdown.

The suspension rules differ for teams entering from the group stage, with a three-yellow card threshold leading to a ban.

However, all bookings are wiped for the semi-final.
