Norwich City Football Club have tonight confirmed the postponement of their stadium development plans at Carrow Road, which would see around 3000 fans displaced from the Lower Regency Security Stand and the South Stand, alongside the building of a new “fan-zone” near the Barclay Stand.

As confirmed on BBC Radio Norfolk’s “The Scrimmage” by majority shareholder Mark Attanasio, the decision to hold off any expansion until next season allows the club more time to communicate with the supporters and present a variety of options, alongside also being able to explore in more detail what else might be possible.

In an official statement that followed Attanasio’s live appearance on BBC Radio Norfolk, the club said:

“Following the club’s recent announcement on proposed development works to Carrow Road, as an ownership group, we are conscious of the response and concerns from supporters. As such, we have taken the decision to postpone the work, to allow us, and management, time to consider feedback and optimise the plans.
