Liverpool Football Club have paid tribute to Jonathan Humble after the Reds women's first team kit manager passed away following a sudden illness. The club announced his passing in an official statement on Wednesday evening, ahead of Arne Slot's side facing Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Humble, who only joined Liverpool as their women's kit manager this season, was taken ill at his home on Sunday evening. He later passed away in Leighton Hospital in Crewe.

He had previously spent six years at Manchester United, where he worked across the Red Devils' women's, academy and men's sides.

In Liverpool's official club statement, they shared their sadness at Humble's passing and they offered their thoughts to his wife, Claire, their children and his family, friends and loved ones.

It read: "Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the passing of women’s first team kit manager Jonathan Humble, following a sudden illness.

"The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Jon’s family, friends and loved ones at this sad time."
