Leicester City were punished for a second-half drop in standards as Portsmouth clinched a draw at the King Power Stadium.

City looked well on course to return to the Championship’s top three and keep the pressure on Coventry and Middlesbrough after Aaron Ramsey’s acrobatic first goal for the club had put them ahead during a strong first-half showing.

But they could not keep up their dominance, with Pompey fighting back through John Swift’s equaliser and going closest to a winner through substitute Florian Bianchini too.

The draw between the pair, who paid tribute to both clubs’ former owner Milan Mandaric before the match, means Marti Cifuentes’ side are now eight unbeaten but have failed to win any of their last three at home.

City looked in a good place to take three points on home turf after they enjoyed one of their strongest first-half showings of the season so far.
