TRANMERE Rovers will face Stockport County at Prenton Park in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The draw, which took place on Monday evening, leaves Rovers facing a tough task against the League One outfit who are managed by former Tranmere player Dave Challinor.

Andy Crosby’s side will welcome Stockport in the weekend commencing Friday, October 31, with further fixture and ticket details to be confirmed.

The draw was made by former West Ham striker Michail Antonio and Joel Ward, who was part of the Crystal Palace squad who won the Cup last season.

There will 40 ties in total, with the full schedule and broadcast picks to be confirmed in due course.

Winning clubs at this stage of the competition will receive £45,000 with losing teams also picking up £15,000.

Tranmere played Stockport at Prenton Park in a League Two fixture last season which saw Rovers win 4-0.

The teams last met in the FA Cup in November 1965 when County were 1-0 winners at Prenton Park.
