No take over yet. A handful of new players and a new kit to spend your football budget on. All looking good? Possibly, possibly not.
We don’t quite have a full squad. We have a stronger defence but the midfield isn’t quite there. As for the forward line it’s the same as last year. Rumour has it that unless we can ship two high earners out we won’t be able to improve much and that we may be hampered with signings in other positions. There is, of course always the possibility of a loan signing or two. A new Rob Apter would be great, but we were lucky in that respect. Quite a few of our rivals have drafted in players from below the EFL. Grimsby have signed striker Kabia from Truro, and Staunton from Spennymoor Town. It will be interesting to see how well they do.
The uncertainty over our future ownership has doubtless hampered our activity in the transfer market. Andy Crosby has the ability to make a silk purse from a pig’s ear, but a bit more investment...
