Charlie Mulgrew believes Aston Villa's John McGinn would love to score for Celtic against Rangers - but is unsure whether his dream will become a reality.

McGinn was linked with Celtic back in 2018 during his time at Hibs, but a move never materialised as Villa lured him south of the border in a £2.75m deal.

The Villa captain has gone on to have a wonderful career in B6 during which he has won promotion to the Premier League and played in the Champions League.

But the lure of playing for Celtic, the club he supports, has always been the subject of discussion after his failed move to Parkhead seven years ago.

And Mulgrew, who was his Scotland team-mate, believes the influential skipper still has that desire to make his mark in one of the biggest rivalries in world football.
