Although the transfer window is closed, until January 2026, deals can still be made.

Clubs are able to add to their squads, if they have room, those players who are out of contract.

This morning, speculation has emerged on – X – that the Hatters are showing an interest in the former Newcastle United and Northern Ireland full back, Jamal Lewis.

The 27-year-old, released by Newcastle United in the summer, is a free agent and could fill one of the two vacant spots in the Hatters EFL League One squad.

Luton born, if Jamal were to return, it would be his second spell with the club having been on the clubs’ books as a youngster. before leaving to join Norwich City.

Indeed, if the rumour is true, it would be the second time the club have been linked with the player with interest, apparently, shown back in the summer, something this site covered – summer-transfer-window-part-2-day-15.

With Matt Bloomfield looking to play a flat back four, could a move for Jamal be on the cards or could his injury record scupper any reputed plans.

I’ll let you decide.
