Back in the early days of the 2025/2026 season, the general consensus of opinion was that we wouldn’t make any judgement calls until 10 games of the new season had been played.

Indeed, I recall several of our readership insisting that we shouldn’t look at the EFL League One table until we’d played 10-games.

Well, last night, we did exactly that with the trip to Blackpool being our 10^th game.

So, what do the figures tell us about the opening 10-games?

Currently, Luton Town are sitting in 7th place, just outside the play-off places having accumulated 16 points out of a possible 30.

Or, to put it another way, we’re 7 points adrift of the top-club, Bradford City.

Our 10 games have provided 5 wins, 4 defeats and 1 draw.

We’ve scored 14 goals and conceded 11, giving us a goal difference of +3.

The 14 goals we’ve scored is the 9th highest in the division, whereas the 11 goals we’ve conceded is the 7^th fewest in the division.

We’re averaging 1.6 points per game which, if continued, will see the Hatters accumulate 73 points over the 46-game season.
