The early stages of the season, August through to November, are always annoying, for one reason.

Courtesy of international breaks, it really is a stop start period for club supporters with the flow of games being interrupted.

Already, this season, the first international break of the 2025/2026 season, saw our game at Blackpool postponed, with the re-arranged fixture being played last night, 30-September.

As a result, courtesy of the 425-mile round trip, on a midweek day / night, only 491 Luton Town supporters made the long trip to the north-west and back, I’m suspecting that many may have made a short break of it, spending a couple of days in a hotel or a bed and breakfast, instead of driving home in the middle of the night.

I’ve no doubt that if the fixture had of been played on its original date, then far more Luton Town supporters would have made the trip.

Today, it has been announced by the – Official Site – that the home fixture, against Huddersfield Town, on Saturday 11-October has now been postponed, courtesy of international fixtures, some of which will, no doubt, require the services of players from both clubs.
