Yesterday, with seventy-four minutes on the clock, the crowd saluted the return of Marvelous Nakamba, from the substitutes bench.

Nakamba, who was a rock in his first season with us, has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons and his appearances have been, to put it mildly, sporadic.

When the summer transfer window was open, I, among others, assumed that Marvelous would be one of many that would fall victim of the major squad re-vamp that was undertaken.

But, for one reason or another, he wasn’t, whether that was because any offers received weren’t thought to be substantial enough to accept, or whether there was, simply, minimal interest in acquiring his services.

I guess we’ll never know.

But coming off the bench, one thing was noticeable, as highlighted on – X – by the highly respected journalist, Geoff Cox, with the aforementioned remarking about Marvelous:

“The lesser-spotted Marv was briefly seen @LutonTown today. They say the camera never lies, so was it on this occasion? He seemed to be carrying a lot of timber, but at least he made a contribution towards a much-needed win for the Hatters.”
