When did Luton Town ever make things easy for themselves, is something I tend to ask myself quite often.

Although I’m appreciative for the win yesterday, against Doncaster Rovers, we had a great opportunity to, more-or-less, wrap the game up just before half-time when Nahki Wells was brought down in the penalty area.

Already leading 1-0, courtesy of a goal from Kal Naismith, second goal, I feel, would have put the game beyond Doncaster Rovers reach.

Unfortunately, Wells wasn’t to score from the spot, with the Doncaster Rovers keeper, Ian Lawlor, pulling off a save, or perhaps a better description would be – a great save.

Now when it comes to penalties, I’ve always believed it to be criminal to miss the target from 12 yards out and there are some out there who are of the opinion that the player fouled shouldn’t be the one to take the kick.

However, I’ve come to accept that, occasionally, penalty kicks can be saved, either by the keeper pulling off a great save (as was the case yesterday) or guessing the direction of the ball and getting a hand, or foot, to it.
