Mohamed Salah could have ended up at Paris Saint-Germain before Luis Enrique reportedly changed that possibility. The 33-year-old is now preparing to face the French giants and current Champions League holders in the tournament at Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening (8pm).

At the end of the season, Salah will also bid farewell to the club after nine years on Merseyside. While his next destination remains unclear, he was previously lined up for a move to PSG.

Spanish newspaper AS reports that the Ligue 1 champions explored a move for Salah as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi, but Enrique is said to have blocked the idea after his appointment in 2023, insisting he 'did not want major stars' added to his squad. PSG then shifted their focus to other targets.
