It could be a big summer of change at Tottenham Hotspur. New boss Roberto De Zerbi is aware of that, no matter what happens between now and the end of the campaign.

Thy Lilywhites are just one point above the relegation places with seven games to go, and going down to the Championship would be catastrophic for the club. De Zerbi’s immediate concern will be keeping the North Londoners in the English top flight. It’s clear, though, that a squad overhaul is required, with the present group of players not good enough for Premier League standards.

One area that needs improvement is the defence amid the uncertain future of skipper Cristian Romero. The Argentinian defender has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer amid the club’s ongoing struggles in the Premier League. He has received plenty of criticism for his ill-discipline and poor conduct on the pitch, with the central defender picking up two red cards this campaign.
