Yeremy Pino’s mysterious disappearance at Crystal Palace is unlikely to harm his chances of going to the World Cup with Spain this summer.

That’s according to AS. The Spanish newspaper cover the Crystal Palace forward today and the ‘mystery’ surrounding his status under Oliver Glanser.

The 23-year-old has gone from being a key player for Crystal Palace at the beginning of the season to barely featuring in recent weeks.

He started the season ‘like a rocket’, hitting the ground running at Selhurst Park and establishing himself as a starter under Glasner. In fact, he started 22 of the 25 matches he played for Crystal Palace last year.

€30m bargain

The €30m they paid for him appeared to be a bargain. All was good, particularly as Pino was pushing to be a starter for Spain.

Then the January transfer window came around. While he remained in the starting 11 at first, that soon changed. Since February, Pino has only started three of eight matches for Crystal Palace. In their last three games, he’s managed five minutes in total.
