Between 2012 and 2014, Brazil legend Julio Cesar had a short spell at Queens Park Rangers.

He came to the London club having won multiple major accolades – including the Champions League in 2010. At that point, he was seen as one of the best goalkeepers on the planet and the move to QPR surprised many.

QPR were in the Premier League at that point but finished 20th, incurring massive losses.

Julio Cesar played regularly in the 2012/13 season but things fell apart in the next campaign. His son – Cauet Werner, who is playing his trade with Messina, has opened up about the time at Queens Park Rangers.

Cesar’s mistreatment at QPR

The youngster spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport in a detailed interview and was specifically asked about his time in London.

He revealed his father’s frustrations, saying: In 2013, after his first season at QPR, he was dropped from the club and never played. The best goalkeeper in the world was forced to sit in the stands. He was suffering, because a year before the World Cup, he had lost confidence and consistency.”
