SAINTS responded to a difficult 1-1 draw with Charlton at the weekend in the perfect way, producing a five-star performance against QPR.

Kuryu Matsuki scored twice as Finn Azaz, Leo Scienza and James Bree also contributed with goals to thrash the London side 5-0 at St Mary's.

It made it seven Championship games unbeaten for Saints, who are putting pressure on the top six as they hunt down a play-off qualification spot.

Saints head on the road in four successive games now, including an FA Cup fifth round match at Fulham, but will take with them a sense of confidence.
